  1. Great review and write up. I remember 25 years ago there was nothing like this out there. I tried to find a class for espresso, but there was nothing near where I lived. I bought a Rancilio Silvia and Rocky set up which came with a steep learning curve if you didn’t have espresso friends. I learned a lot by making mistakes.

I could easily see starting out with one of these Barista Express set up. You will learn a lot and have a community to learn from online. Might be a fun set up for the weekend place if you have one. Small footprints are a good thing. Well under a $1000 is sweet. Easy to use, priceless.

  2. Thank you for the in-depth look at this! Won my respect as a place to look for reviews from now on.

  3. I had this machine less than 2 years, had to change out the gasket after 6 months and none of them last very long. And then it just quit working properly. I live in Montana not an abundance of places to repair machines. Had friends who had this machine and theirs worked great but they are only casual espresso drinkers. I’ve packed up the machine and I’m trying to decide if I should find someone who might be able to get it work or if I should take it to metal recycling. Oh but the grinder works great

  4. Great review and thank you, from someone who has recently moved up from a french press.
